Elias becomes known for craftsmanship and reliability.

Elias marries Therese Wieninger, a strong partner from a respected Viennese family. Together, they have six children.
1855

After great success they were able to establish a bigger showroom at Hoher Markt 5 with a workshops operating in the Old Town Hall courtyard.
1861

Elias dies unexpectedly & Therese has to take over by her own.
The construction of the ring road opens up new perspectives through the opportunity to collaborate with great architects like Theophil Hansen.
1872

The 12 years by herself are difficult but she succeeded in achieving an upswing, which is also outwardly reflected in the relocation to Vienna's most important shopping street:
The new Showroom at Kärntnerstraße 16.
By the early 1870s, "E. Bakalowits Söhne" is considered the most beautiful glass and chandelier shop of the monarchy.
